Took the opportunity to get out on the creek today with Nadine. With the temperature somewhere around 20, and the water not much warmer, it's surprising that we stayed out as long as we did. Good. Cold. Fun.

A couple of nights ago, I posted a photo of the creek from the main bridge on Sherman Hill Road. Not much in the way of flow, and plenty of snow and ice on the rocks. Well...two days later, with three inches of snow melting, and a bit of rain in the forecast, the creek was running quite a bit higher.

Can't wait to see what spring brings to my little waterway.

The day before Thanksgiving. Supposed to get quite a winter storm from this evening into tomorrow. Horrible tales of snow, rain, ice, and wind. Of course, they predicted some of the same for earlier this week, and it amounted to no more than a couple of inches of snow....that disappeared in a matter of two days. Let's hope whatever arrives tonight, suffers the same fate.

With all the rain and melting snow, the little stream out front turned a nice shade of mocha this morning. Maybe three or four times the flow of the last couple days. Can't wait to see what happens between now and the weekend.

Winter is here.

The UPS guy dropped off a few pieces of gear for the camera yesterday, and not a single round corner in the lot. A first time for everything. (Oh...and some bike parts, too.) Among the collection of small items, was a bellows, used for macro photography. Despite the nice opportunities for fine landscape and nature photography, I've gotten back into macro work. This might be pretty handy once the weather turns the way New York winters are known for. (Snow tonight.) Maybe I can play around with snow flakes, too.

At some point close to the start of the year, an order was placed for a Frostbike edition Pugsley. Well...we knew it wasn't come out right away. Probably September. I could wait. I had bikes to ride, and trips to go on. Frankly, I wasn't even planning on being back home until just before it would have arrived. September came and went. So did October...

In the hopes of putting together a bit of a bike track around the rental property, I've been working on altering a few of the obstacles. The largest of those, "The Log", sits at the upper section of the trail as you're heading to the falls. Axe on hand, I decided to start with the big one...

Pretty sure today is Tuesday, which means it's been a couple of days since the last post. A few too many errands to run, so it certainly felt like time to get back in the creek. Besides...I think I've done enough this week to support the local economy for a bit.

I've been experimenting with other methods of capturing images in the last 48 hours, and hope to have some of them show up here in the very near future. (That's just how things seem to go, right?)

So...I went back out.
A work in progress.
Needs more socks in the boots.
