A quick ride to the ice cream shop for a chocolate shake.

A little better ride today. 30 miles. Sunny day, and not too much wind. Still not where I'd like to be, but it's better than nothing.

I've been by this lot a number of times, and noticed the old Airstream trailer, just over the rise in the middle of the field. Today was the first time I'd seen the for sale signs posted. Seven acres. Looks like they might already have electricity run, as there are a pair of lights mounted at the end of the driveway. Would make a nice place to park the Streamline...if only there were a better place to ride a road bike around there. Plenty of room for a pump track, though.

Not quite the ride I was hoping for today, but at least I got on the bike. (Some days...it's harder than others.)

New pedals today. Replaced the Speedplays with a set of Shimano 105 road pedals. As much as I liked some of what the Speedplays offered, I had the right one release accidentally, twice, during yesterday's ride. Alone on the road, with no traffic or other cyclists to worry about, there wasn't much of an issue, other than my total surprise. That can't happen during a ride. The Shimano pedals don't have near the float of the Speedplays, but they're not going to release prematurely, either. Going to spend some time tonight, getting the setup dialed in, and get a longer ride in tomorrow.

It's always something.

Another 30-miler along the river today. Got back before the rain started, which is always a good thing.

A little gravel/dirt riding this afternoon, while waiting on the rain that never came. Finally broke out of the hot and muggy weather we've been dealing with, and got something a bit cooler in return. Overall, a pretty ni

Pretty happy about getting a 30-miler in today, although the wind wasn't playing along for the entire ride. Stopped for a moment to deal with a phone call, at the coolest detail shop I've ever seen. He wasn't open for business, so I can't say what it's like on the inside, but the outside is pretty sweet.

A view from the deck....beer in hand.

Not much of a ride today. The little town of Franklin, as many small towns will do, held a Memorial Day parade this morning. I got through on the way to Oneonta ahead of the festivities, but wasn't so lucky on return trip. The line of traffic was longer than the town, and there's only one road available. That resulted in plenty of drivers that weren't too happy with having to wait...and employed a little added speed on the way out of town. Seemed like a better idea to keep it short
